Dec 1, 2022 · These mags have the built in "feed ramp" (lip at the front of the mag) that is so critical for proper feed angle in the Valmet rifles. I've played around with converting different mags for the Valmet over the years and this is the first solution that I've found to be 100% reliable and also fits nice and tight in the magwell of the Valmet M76.

Aug 15, 2012 · While you could get Galil mag to fit a Valmet with relative ease, the feed angle cause the bullet to hit the top inside of the chamber and runs the risk of setting the bullet back in the shell case. This can cause a pressure spike when shooting. Bulgy 5.56 waffle mags seem to be the better candidate for conversions when it comes to Valmet rifles.

Jul 7, 2009 · The Valmet 82's receivers never cracked, the plastic stocks that they used would crack easily. That's actually a fairly common occurance with the Valmet plastic stocks on the M71 or M76. The plastic buttplates on the M76's also tended to crack easily.

Mar 27, 2021 · Valmet itself took over importation I think sometime around 1986 timeframe. The Interarms imported guns were earlier, 1970's - early 80's. I would say the OP's gun was from about 1983-85 time frame.
