Doesn’t matter the price on a shorted stock, they owe the stock back and if the company’s stock isn’t very liquid (ie only 1 share on the market) that share holder can request whatever number they want as long as that number is lower than the cost of bankruptcy for the short sellers

Really happy to finally share this post which I've worked on for awhile.
