Ukraine’s European allies strongly condemned the attack. U.K. Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that he was “appalled” by it. “If Putin is serious about peace, Russia must agree to a full and immediate ceasefire, as Ukraine has done,” he wrote on X.

President Donald Trump announced he will speak separately with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday to push for a Ukraine ceasefire. He called the war a "bloodbath" and expressed hope for peace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy landed in Turkey to show he was ready for ceasefire talks. But Russian President Vladimir Putin stayed in Moscow, signaling it's premature for Russia to call an end to the war.
