CHICAGO — Vandals took red paint to a statue of Abraham Lincoln overnight. The Abraham Lincoln statue of the nation’s 16th president is in the 1700 block of N. Stockton Drive in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Vandals defaced the monument by writing, ‘Lincoln was an executioner,’ among other things.

Authorities believe one or more vandals damaged the statue, in the 1700 block of North Stockton Drive, in the early morning hours of Monday. No arrests have been made.
