Texas lawmakers advanced a bill to change the language in the state's abortion laws in an effort to clarify when doctors are allowed to perform an abortion during a medical emergency.

Now headed to TX's House, the proposed legislation expands on the use of private lawsuits to crack down on abortions.

I want to believe this bill will make things better, because it's hard to believe that things could be much worse,' Sen. Sarah Eckhardt said.
