Former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz fired a jab at Ohio State coach Ryan Day Wednesday, continuing one of college football's strangest feuds. Responding to an ESPN video questioning whether Holtz would attend the College Football Playoff National Championship Monday,

It started following last year's meeting between the two teams, which saw Day fire back at Holtz, who questioned the physicality of Ohio State before the game. Although Holtz is 88 years old, he didn't forget Day's comments and took a jab at him on social media on Wednesday.

Lou Holtz continues to take shots at Ohio State head coach Ryan Day. On Monday, Day said the two have never buried the hatchet on their long-running feud ahead of the Buckeyes' showdown with Notre Dame in the national title game.

Ohio State RB Chip Trayanum plowed through the middle of Notre Dame's defensive line for a 1-yard touchdown on third-and-goal with one second left on the clock to seal the win. During a postgame interview with the NBC broadcast, Day, unprompted, went off on Holtz in a clip that went instantly viral.

During Sunday's media availability, eight days before Notre Dame and Ohio State meet in the national championship game, Day was asked if he had spoken at all to Lou Holtz since the infamous viral moment and if things had been at all patched up between the two.
