The family of Kavan Markwood said that he is awake, alert, and able to speak, but still has a long road to recovery.

The fan who fell onto the field at PNC Park earlier this week, identified as Kavan Markwood, is “awake and continuing to work toward making his body stronger each day,” according to a post on social media from his girlfriend Alonna Brown.

Kavan Markwood, the fan who fell more than 20 feet over the outfield wall on Wednesday night at PNC Park is "awake, alert, and able to speak" according to his family, but he does remain in the hospital.
