Nifty 50 outlook remains weak and the markets will consolidate in a range with stock specific action on the back of Q3 result announcements, analysts said.

The benchmark Sensex dropped 241 points to settle at 77,379, while the Nifty fell 95 points to 23,431, giving up the crucial 23,450 mark. Both indices recorded a 2% decline over the week. 36 of the 50 Nifty stocks ended in the red for the week.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a negative start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,583 level, a discount of nearly 63 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
