Tesla has announced a recall of approximately 239,000 vehicles due to a software issue that could cause the rearview camera to not display images.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced it is investigating nearly 2.6 million Tesla vehicles over a remote driving feature.

The “Actually Smart Summon” feature enables drivers to remotely summon or move their vehicles to them or another location via a mobile phone app.

Certain Tesla models have been recalled due a computer circuit board shortage causing the vehicles' rearview cameras to not display images properly.

Tesla issued a recall for over 200,000 electric vehicles due to an issue with its latest computer hardware that can short circuit and disable some safety features including the rearview camera. Tesla submitted the recall on January 6th,

The company, in an announcement, is recalling around 239,000 units associated with a fault in the rear-view camera system. The failure, Reuters cited, comes when a reverse current causes the camera not to function as expected and thereby represents a potential risk to safety that may result for drivers.

The NHTSA on Tuesday opened an investigation into about 2.6 million Tesla vehicles equipped with the company's FSD assistance technology.
