Marvel Comics has revealed that its upcoming New Thunderbolts* comic is really New Avengers, echoing what's happened with the Marvel Studios movie, which opened in theaters last week. Read on for details!

Marvel Studios actually is advertising that director Jake Schreier’s new superhero movie has a very different title. In fact, a huge Los Angeles billboard, as well as theater standees and social media promos are giving you the answer up front, instead of making you wait until the end of the picture.

Thunderbolts just morphed into The New Avengers — and the transformation didn’t happen in a press release, it unfolded inside the movie itself. That asterisk in Thunderbolts wasn’t a typo — it was Marvel teasing its biggest title twist since Infinity War.
