Nigeria have threatened to boycott their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Libya on Tuesday after being stranded for hours at an airport far from their destination where players said they lacked provisions and comfort.

Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong says his team have been left at an abandoned airport for more than 17 hours.

Captain William Troost-Ekong said the team will not play the game and they will not make a three-hour bus ride from Al-Abraq to Benina, where the qualifier was scheduled to be played on Tuesday.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar also revealed that the Nigerian Mission in Tripoli has been closely monitoring the situation and maintaining contact with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Libyan authorities.
