10:10am: The Padres have optioned left-hander Kyle Hart to Triple-A El Paso, according to the club’s transactions tracker at MLB.com. No corresponding move is listed but they will presumably bring up another pitcher before tonight’s game.

As soon as Kyle Hart struggled on the mound, you knew he would become a victim of his ineffectiveness. The San Diego Padres wasted little time sending him to El Paso after another disappointing outing.

With an off-day on Monday and another on Thursday, the Padres don’t need a fifth starter until their early May road trip. So left-hander Kyle Hart has been optioned to Triple-A El Paso and right-hander Ryan Bergert has been recalled to fortify the bullpen for at least this five-game homestand.
