The federal government in the United States has broadened the conditions under which international students can lose their legal status, triggering concern among students and educational institutions.

“In our response, the University reiterated our steadfast commitment to sponsor the visas that facilitate our international students’ study at Harvard,” read the letter from Executive Vice President Meredith Weenick. She said the university made it “clear” that it doesn’t seek to withdraw from the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

At least 17 international students in Oklahoma were impacted by the Trump administration's recent decisions regarding student visas.

All five University of Arkansas students whose SEVIS records were terminated have now had their status restored to active, a university spokesperson said.
