LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Officials in Lafourche Parish and New Orleans are requesting that residents conserve water the day after a winter snowstorm covered parts of Southeast Louisiana.

The St. Mary Levee Director preemptively closed a floodgate to protect Terrebonne and Lafourche from a swollen Mississippi River.
