Transport Canada (TC) has mandated an Airbus-recommended swap of A220 bleed-air valves to address high failure rates with the original parts that have led to multiple in-service incidents.

The Airbus A220 first emerged through Bombardier Aviation's CSeries, launched on 13 July 2008. The CS100 first flew in September 2013, entering into service with Swiss Global Air Lines in July 2016.
