U.S. automakers are set to get a break on some of the sweeping tariffs President Donald Trump is imposing. Yet even with the new waivers, the outlook for America's longest-lived carmakers remains cloudy, with General Motors saying Tuesday it was "reassessing" its earnings guidance in light of the uncertainty over the tariffs impact.

After negotiations, companies paying Trump’s car tariffs won’t also be charged for other levies.

The White House took aim at Amazon on Tuesday after the e-commerce giant reportedly prepared to directly display to consumers the price increases associated with President Donald Trump’s tariffs—with Trump calling Amazon founder Jeff Bezos personally to complain—but the retailer denied it considered implementing such a wide-sweeping effort.

An Amazon spokesperson said the company was not going to display tariff costs next to products, following a report it would do so earlier Tuesday.
