For the fourth time since the NFL-AFL merger, the New York Giants have drafted a quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft. Jaxson Dart joins Phil Simms (1979), Phillip Rivers (2004) and Daniel Jones (2019) as the only first-round signal-callers to be drafted by Big Blue.

Not long after the Giants selected Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll descended from the second floor of the team facility to discuss the fairly easy decision to go with Carter.

Schoen settled for signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston after missing on Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco and an attempt to trade up to No. 1 for Miami’s Cam Ward, who will be selected by the Tennessee Titans with Thursday night’s top pick.
