San Diego city officials on Wednesday broke ground on a new affordable housing complex in the Cortez Hill neighborhood.

The Kindred Apartments will remain affordable for 99 years for households earning no more than 60% of San Diego's area median income -- $99,240 per year for a family of four as of 2025.
