A woman suspected of driving under the influence and two passengers are dead following a crash on Highway 12 in San Joaquin County Sunday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

Two children are dead following a car crash with a driver suspected to be under the influence in Napa. A woman, the children's mother, was arrested for driving under the influence of substances, according to authorities.

Two children-- a boy aged 10 and girl aged 9-- were killed, and the driver, Yesica Barajas, 31, received major injuries. Barajas was taken to the hospital and once she is medically cleared, she will be arrested on suspicion of DUI, CHP said.

Two children are dead and their mother is behind bars suspected of driving under the influence following a crash in Napa County Sunday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Jian Bin Chen was arrested Thursday on suspicion of DUI, vehicular homicide and driving on the wrong side of a divided highway, according to Jefferson County jail records.

CHP-Napa says it would not indicate the relationship between the two children and the driver, a 31-year-old woman, saying the family of the deceased would need to be notified first.
