Manny Machado hit a two-run double and Xander Bogaerts followed with a two-run single in an eighth-inning comeback against Devin Williams and Luke Weaver, and the San Diego Padres rallied past the New York Yankees 4-3 on a soggy Monday night for their sixth straight win.

The Yankees and Padres sat through a 30-minute delay to start the game. They then took shelter again for a 28-minute wait with two out in the bottom of the fourth, and Jorbit Vivas swung like he was really trying to get to the official ballgame marker in the fifth inning once play resumed.

Stephen Kolek pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings in his first MLB start and combined with four relievers for the Padres’ eighth shutout of the season.

Xander Bogaerts had two hits and three RBI to lead the San Diego Padres to a 4-0 victory over the host Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon.
