President Donald Trump’s trade war is escalating fast—and Tesla stock is falling with the broader market. Shares of the electric vehicle maker dropped 10.4%, to $239.43, on Friday trading, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 6% and 5.

The selloff is enough to knock the stock back into the red, for what has been a volatile week, which has been marked by surprisingly weak sales data, a report that Chief Executive Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration was ending soon and a budding trade war.

China’s Communist Party mouthpiece, People’s Daily, is rolling out a miniseries this week titled “Fully Understanding the Mutually Beneficial Nature of China-U.S. Relations.” Part 1 cited a Tesla fact
