Just one week after the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes competed in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl, the iconic stadium is in danger as multiple massive wildfires rage in Los Angeles.

For decades, the Ducks have knocked at the door of becoming a desired member of college football's elite. All they're missing is the trophy.

It was so quiet in the Oregon locker room you could hear a season end. Amid the near silence Wednesday night, Ducks cornerback Jabbar Muhammad found himself offering a way-too-early state-of-the union assessment of his program.

The Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes had a large viewing audience for their Rose Bowl matchup in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinals on ESPN. It was the most watched non-NFL American sporting event since last year's national championship.

The No. 1 Ducks were pummeled 41-21 by No. 8 Ohio State on Wednesday at the Rose Bowl, eliminating them from the College Football Playoff in the quarterfinal round. Oregon went down by as much as 34-0 in the second quarter, amassing just 139 yards to Ohio State’s 390 in the first half alone.
