Liberal leadership candidate Mark Carney says he will speed up Canada’s defence spending to hit the 2 per cent target two years sooner.

Liberal leadership contender Mark Carney announced on Wednesday that if he becomes prime minister he's committed to reaching NATO's military investment benchmark of two per cent of gross domestic product by the end of 2030.
