It was a somewhat hostile breakup between Miami and Butler, leaving the Heat with a weirdly put-together roster. But at his end of the year press conference, Heat president Pat Riley was unapologetic about how the entire situation with Butler went.

Riley told Butler to keep his mouth shut after the injured star had stated that the Heat would have beaten the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks in the playoffs. Things then took a turn for the worse after Riley refused to give Butler an extension in the offseason.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Riley said he's "not going to apologize" for not presenting a max contract offer to Butler last summer. Riley did wish Butler well going forward now that he is a member of the Golden State Warriors while hoping the six-time All-Star would return the courtesy to the Heat.
