LONDON (AP) — Nat Sciver-Brunt has been appointed captain of the England women’s cricket team. The England and Wales Cricket Board said Tuesday that Sciver-Brunt will replace Heather Knight, who stepped down after nine years in March as part of an overhaul following poor results.

Allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt has succeeded Heather Knight as the all-format captain of England. The England and Wales Cricket Board announced Sciver-Brunt's appointment to the top job on Tuesday after Knight left the role last month following England's humiliating 16-0 whitewash by Australia in the Ashes series.
