Carlos Santana kick-started an eight-run sixth inning with a bases-clearing double, and the Cleveland Guardians beat the Nationals 8-6 on Wednesday to win two of three at Washington in a 24-hour span.

The last time Cleveland scored eight times in an inning was Sept. 17, 2023 against Texas. In all, the Guardians sent 13 batters to the plate with six hits, three walks, two wild pitches, a stolen base and a hit batter. Arias finished with a career-high four hits, including a double.
