Big Lots will reopen 132 stores across 14 states in May as Variety Wholesalers works toward reviving 219 locations with fresh inventory and bargain-hunt deals.

Big Lots is ramping up its comeback plans under new ownership by opening more than 130 stores, including nearly two dozen in Pennsylvania and Virginia. The discount chain plans to reopen 132 stores across 14 states in May,

The dozens of openings will come after the company filed for bankruptcy and closed some locations in 2024. Nine Big Lots locations in six states reopened on April 10, and the company plans to reopen 55 Big Lots stores on May 1. Two more rounds of openings are set to take place through early June.
