U.S. airstrikes targeting Yemen 's capital killed at least eight people overnight, the Houthi rebels said Monday, as the American military acknowledged carrying out over 800 individual strikes in their monthlong campaign.

The strikes came after the Houthis fired a missile that struck near Israel’s main airport. President Trump later said the U.S. would stop bombing the Houthis because they do not want to fight anymore.

The Israeli military bombed the airport in Yemen's rebel-held capital Tuesday, claiming to have disabled the airfield in an attack that left commercial aircraft burning on the tarmac as its fighter jets struck power plants and other targets.
