University of Texas System Chancellor James B. Milliken departure comes as the system loses other longtime leaders, including presidents at the UT Austin

UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May made the following statement about the appointment of James B. Milliken as the University of California president: “I extend my sincere congratulations to James Milliken on his selection as the next president of the University of California.

Former state Rep. John Zerwas will temporarily replace Chancellor JB Milliken in leading the 256,000-student university system.
