North Dakota is among the most solidly Republican states — President Obama lost by nearly 9 percentage points four years ago — and Mitt Romney had no trouble winning this state on Tuesday.

President Trump won North Dakota by more than 35 points, and Heitkamp's opponent, Republican Rep. Kevin Cramer, has already been elected statewide as North Dakota's sole representative.
