Google would like for you to use Gemini more often. Today, the company announced that you can opt to have Gemini read your search history when prompting it for help. Google says the upside of this is that it’ll give you more personalized results when you interact with Gemini.

Gemini won’t access your search history for every query. It will only do so if it thinks that it will be helpful. It most likely won’t access it if you’re asking a general question. However, if you’re looking for a vacation spot or for fashion advice, then it’ll most likely thumb through your searches.

Google's AI model Gemini is getting even more personal. The company announced this week that enabling a new personalization tool will allow the AI model to reference your search history to enhance and deepen its responses.
