A series of flood warnings and alerts have been issued across the West Midlands as Storm Herminia hits parts of the UK. River levels in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire are expected to rise due to heavy wind and rain overnight.

The South West has been warned of the possibility of major, widespread flooding in the wake of back-to-back storms. After a weekend of heavy rain and strong winds, which saw emergency services respond to a number of weather related incidents, even more disruption is expected.

Wet and windy weather will continue to batter parts of the UK over the next few days, as Storm Hermina makes its mark. As our map show, the Environment Agency (EA) has put 52 flood warnings in place across south west England.

Hundreds of homes are without power and flood alerts have been issued as Storm Herminia hits Wales. A Met Office alert for heavy rain began at midday Sunday and remains in place until the end of Monday.
