Vanderbilt basketball (18-9, 6-8) got a much needed win over the No. 24 Ole Miss Rebels (19-8, 8-6) as the Commodores continue to maximize their opportunities inside Memorial Gymnasium. Vanderbilt defeated the Rebels 77-72 for their third victory over a top 25 team.

Vandy’s chances of reaching the NCAA Tournament looked much more up in the air as recently as a couple of weekends ago. The Commodores had suffered three straight losses to ranked opponents, culminating in a 21-point defeat at Kentucky.

The Vanderbilt Commodores claimed their third ranked victory of the season on Saturday, adding No. 24 Ole Miss to the resume along with No. 6 Tennessee and No. 9 Kentucky.
