ATLANTA — The 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship features a historic showdown between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The championship game is scheduled for Jan. 20, 2025, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

The ACC is expected to consider changing the format of its football championship as it weighs how to protect its regular-season champion before the College Football Playoff, commissioner Jim Phillips said Sunday.
