Nashville earns third straight win at home after fight-filled first period in heated Central Division rivalry matchup.

The Nashville Predators will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday in the first of a home-and-home between the two clubs.

Filip Forsberg tallied twice, and the Nashville Predators scored a season-high six goals to defeat the Minnesota Wild by a 6-2 final on Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena. The result gives the Preds their third straight victory and a three-game win streak for the first time since October.

Nashville (15-22-7, 37 points) beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on Thursday, clinching the win with a 3-for-3 shootout performance from Gustav Nyquist, Ryan O'Reilly, and Steven Stamkos. It was the Predators' first appearance in a shootout this season.

Ducks starting goaltender John Gibson left after the first period with an upper-body injury and was replaced by Lukas Dostal. Ryan O'Reilly scored the game-tying goal in the second period, burying a rebound behind Dostal to tie the game 2-2 at the 5:07 mark.

The goaltending matchup featured Nashville's Justus Annunen against San Jose's Yaroslav Askarov, the Predators' first-round draft pick in 2020 who requested a trade out of Nashville last August after the team signed Juuse Saros to an eight-year contract extension. Annunen made 30 saves on 35 shots, while Askarov made 32 saves on 38 shots.

Nashville owns a 14-game point streak (13-0-1) against San Jose that dates back to March 16, 2019, in which the team has allowed more than two goals against only once. The last time the Predators were defeated at home by the Sharks was on Oct. 21, 2018, by a score of 5-4 and the last time they lost on the road was Nov. 9, 2019, in a 2-1 shootout.
