The Detroit Lions sat idly by watching other teams make picks in the fourth and fifth rounds on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft after not having selections in those rounds following some trades.However, the Lions did manage to make a trade up with the New England Patriots that got them back into the fifth round.

The Lions doubled up on offensive guards for the first time since taking Jonah Jackson and Logan Stenberg in 2020, taking Ratledge in Round 2 and Frazier in Round 5. They dipped into the same training group as Frazier and Tate Ratledge and spent time together during the pre-draft process under the guidance of offensive line guru Duke Manyweather.

The Detroit Lions traded up for the third time in the 2025 NFL Draft, getting LSU guard Miles Frazier in the fifth round in a deal with New England.
