A ruling by a Washington D.C. judge has barred the Proud Boys from selling merchandise using its name or symbols without permission from a Black church.

The Proud Boys lost control of their trademarked name on Monday after a judge in Washington, DC, ruled that it be handed over to a Black church that was attacked by members of the far-right group four years ago.

Proud Boys chapters across the country can no longer use the group's name or logo unless granted approval by the church.
