Utah quarterback Cam Rising is hanging up his cleats, but he won’t be leaving the game of football entirely behind. Rising, 25, announced on social media Wednesday that he would be retiring from football over medical reasons after suffering a hand injury during a game against Baylor in September.

Former Utah quarterback Cam Rising announced he's retiring from football on the advice of his doctors. The 25-year-old said he suffered a hand injury in the Utes' 23-12 win over Baylor last September that's serious enough to warrant surgery and end his playing career:

Rising led Utah to Pac-12 titles in 2021 and 2022 but dealt with a myriad of injuries over the course of his extended NCAA eligibility.
