Mumbai: The conspiracy to kill NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique was hatched in Pune and shooters were provided with a photo and a flex banner for the target identification, police said Monday.

Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested Shubham Lonkar in connection with the Baba Siddiqui murder case. The arrest took place in Pune, highlighting ongoing efforts to solve the high-profile case.

Police said Lonkar, who was arrested earlier this year for supplying weapons, was in direct contact with Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Central Jail.

Mumbai: In the Baba Siddique shooting case, Pravin Lonkar, the 28-year-old brother of Shubham Lonkar, has been arrested in Pune. He is one of the conspirators who, along with Shubham Lonkar, recruited Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shivkumar Gautam for the plot.

The Mumbai police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Pune who along with his brother “enlisted” two of the three alleged shooters in the Baba Siddique murder case, an official said on Sunday

The third accused has been identified as 28-year-old Pravin Lonkar. He allegedly hired shooters for the attack on Baba Siddique.

Dharamraj Kashyap, one of the arrested suspects, is just 19 years old and comes from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. His mother, speaking to ANI from their home, expressed her disbelief over the allegations against him.
