If the NFL were to hand out an award for the most dysfunctional coaching search of 2025, that award would almost certainly go to the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's been a bizarre week for the Jags, who are hiring Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen as their new head coach.

In one of the more stunning developments in recent coaching search history, Coen agreed to become the Jaguars’ head coach, per multiple reports, after previously removing himself from consideration and agreeing to a Buccaneers extension that would have made him the NFL’s highest-paid coordinator.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired general manager Trent Baalke, multiple outlets reported Wednesday, a decision that is not shocking in and of itself but has led to some online jeering thanks to the timing of it all.
