NFL star had severe CTE at time of death: ‘A cautionary tale’
The brain of former NFL star, Frank Wycheck, was found to have severe damage from Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). Wycheck passed away in December 2023 at the age of 52. His family confirmed at the time that they intended to work with CTE researchers in the wake of his passing.
His daughters said they had challenges understanding both the physical and mental changes from their father, who died at 52 in 2023, thinking he was just missing the spotlight of his career.
