Newark Airport is facing a ninth of delays and cancellations today, as an air traffic controller shortage continues.

The FAA acknowledges the air traffic control system that handles traffic coming in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport is antiquated. After a recent incident, about a half dozen controllers sought trauma leave due to working conditions.

For more than a minute, controllers directing traffic in and out of Newark Liberty could not communicate with planes or their pilots, report says.
