New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Tuesday unveiled a landmark universal after-school program that will eventually be open to all students.

Mayor Adams hopes to offer free after-school to more New York City families by opening 20,000 new program slots over the next few years, he is expected to announce on Tuesday afternoon.

Adams said he plans to expand after-school to 20,000 students in kindergarten through fifth grade over the next three years.
