A Chicago Fire record crowd of 62,358 showed up at Soldier Field on Sunday for the game against Inter Miami and based on the number of pink No. 10 shirts in the stands, a sizable percentage of the audience was there to see Miami captain Lionel Messi.

Lionel Messi missed on four chances but Inter Miami remained unbeaten after a scoreless draw against the Fire on Sunday at Soldier Field. Messi earned a free kick in the 62nd minute but his try struck the crossbar. Another free kick 13 minutes later went a foot above the upper corner. A free kick in the 86th minute grazed the far corner.

MLS announced that the official attendance of 62,358 set a Chicago Fire club record, and Messi's presence was no doubt a huge factor. Chicago's previous single-game attendance record was 62,214, also set during a visit by Messi and Inter Miami in October 2023.
