CLEVELAND, Ohio — James Karinchak has signed a minor league deal with the White Sox as he attempts to make it back to the majors after missing the 2024 season with a shoulder injury.
The White Sox reassigned Karinchak to minor-league camp Wednesday. Karinchak was erratic during Cactus League play, striking out 11 but also walking nine and allowing eight runs over eight innings.
Karinchak, 29, struck out 53 and walked 16 in 27 innings for Cleveland in 2020. The next year he went 7-4 with 11 saves, while striking out 78 and walking 32 in 66 1/3 innings.
