Brock Purdy is arguably the most famous Mr. Irrelevant in the history of the NFL and could also become the best-paid one. He’s played in two NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl, but it’s still hard for him to get his due in some circles.

The San Francisco 49ers purged a portion of their roster this offseason and loaded up in the 2025 NFL Draft with young players on rookie-scale contracts in anticipation of a Brock Purdy contract extension. After months of negotiations, it appears a deal could be coming very soon.

Brock Purdy is entering his third season as a starter, which gives him an opportunity for a significant leap per OC Klay Kubiak.
