The US Postal Service said it’s accepting “all international inbound mail and packages” from China and Hong Kong Posts, walking back an announcement made only hours earlier to halt some overseas shipments.

Chinese retailers like Shein and Temu have used this to inundate the American market with discounts on clothing and household products. Shein and Temu are “likely responsible for more than 30 percent of all packages shipped to the United States daily” under the de minimis provision, according to a 2023 House report.

The U.S. Postal Service on Tuesday suspended all incoming parcels from China and Hong Kong only to reverse the decision less than 24 hours later. No reason was given for the reversal of the decision.
