Alice in Chains were forced to cancel the first date of their U.S. tour after one of their co-founding members suffered a “medical emergency.”

A popular rock band had to call off the first leg of its tour after a band member suffered a medical emergency. Alice in Chains was slated to kick off a United States tour Thursday in Connecticut. However, the band abruptly cancelled the show just hours before it was set to start because their drummer fell ill.

Ocean City, Md.'s, Boardwalk Rock Festival is facing its second big lineup change after Alice in Chains announced it will no longer be in attendance.
