The Empire State Building lit up green after the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC Championship game on Sunday, much to the chagrin of some New Yorkers.

After the Philadelphia Eagles advanced to the Super Bowl by defeating the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship, the Empire State Building was lit with Eagles' green and white to honor the New York Giants' biggest rival.

Two years since their last trip to the big dance, the Philadelphia Eagles are going back to the Super Bowl. A 55-23 victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game solidified the Birds’ upcoming trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX.

On Monday, just a day after Philadelphia’s 55-23 NFC Championship victory over the Washington Commanders, Barkley took to Instagram to make a post. His former Giants teammate of five seasons, wide receiver Darius Slayton, left a comment. "When it's meant to be it's gon be 🙏🏾," Slayton wrote.

The New York Giants were on the receiving end of ridicule on Sunday as Saquon Barkley helped lead the Philadelphia Eagles to an NFC Championship.
