OAKLAND — A local rapper has been wanted on a murder warrant for three weeks, but despite his local celebrity status and news of the charge spreading online, he has evaded capture thus far.

(KRON) — Oakland rapper Saafir died Tuesday morning, his family said. Saafir was an influential figure in the Bay Area hip-hop scene in the 1990s and worked with artists such as Tupac.

A 21-year-old Oakland rapper known as ChaiBenjii4 is wanted on a murder charge in connection with a wild shootout outside of a liquor store.
